Pronay Halder is a technically sound defensive midfielder who is known for his tactical awareness. The Tata Football Academy graduate burst onto the scene with AIFF developmental side Pailan Arrows. He went on to represent Goan giants Dempo SC in the Hero I-League. Despite being picked by the FC Goa side for the inaugural edition of the Hero ISL, he was forced to drop out owing to an injury. He has represented India at the under-19 and under-22 levels and also made his senior India debut against Nepal under the tutelage of Stephen Constantine. A runner-up with FC Goa in Hero ISL 2015, Halder made five appearances in the blues of Mumbai City FC during the 2016 season. However, his best individual season came with the Gaurs in 2017-18, where he was an integral part of the team which reached the semi-finals. His fine performances for club and country over the past year merited him an offer from ATK, which he gladly accepted.
