Born in Andul, West Bengal, Ghosh began his footballing career with Hero I-League 2nd division club Southern Samity. He was not a regular with Delhi Dynamos for the Hero ISL 2015 and 2016 seasons. In all, he played just three matches for the Dynamos across two seasons, managing one clean sheet. The 27-year-old, Ghosh received a call-up to the Indian national team for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, but remained on the bench. With Subrata Paul donning the goalkeeping gloves for Jamshedpur last season, Ghosh played just one game. However, Ghosh played a blinder in the Round of 16 of the Hero Super Cup against I-League champions Minerva Punjab and was deservedly roped in by Chennaiyin ahead of 2018-19.
