Seiminlen Doungel began his career in the JCT youth system before joining East Bengal in 2011 and made his debut in the AFC Cup in May 2012. Doungel was loaned out to Pailan Arrows in 2013, scoring two goals in 11 appearances for the club. For the 2013-14 season he returned to East Bengal and finished his career with the red and golds by scoring two goals in two games. Doungel was a part of NorthEast United FC in the inaugural edition of the Hero Indian Super League, where he made 9 appearances and managed to find the back of the net on one occasion against Chennaiyin, helping his side draw 2-2. He moved to Delhi Dynamos in Season 2 and will ply his trade for NorthEast United for the upcoming one's frontline and a chance to improve upon his stellar performances from last season.
