Indian duo of Sarabjot Singh and Divya Thadigol settled for silver in 10m Air Pistol mixed team event after they were outclassed by China in the ongoing Asian Games 2023. Bowen Zhang and Ranxin Jiang of China emerged victorious, displaying an impressive resurgence that ultimately led them to secure the gold medal.

Initially facing a deficit against their Indian counterparts, the Chinese duo opted for a strategic timeout and then steadily turned the tide of the contest in their favor, ultimately prevailing. Sarabjot Singh and Divya Thadigol of India swiftly garnered a four-point advantage after three rounds, with the requirement of reaching 16 points to secure the coveted gold medal.

Following the conclusion of the sixth round, it was noteworthy that the Indian duo maintained a two-point lead over their Chinese counterparts, with the overall score standing at 7-5. At the halfway mark, the score was level at 11 points. Subsequently, Zhang and Jiang emerged victorious in round 12, thereby obtaining the advantage in the gold medal match for the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event.

Responding with determination, the Indian pair won round 13, thus restoring equilibrium in the closely contested competition. In Round 14, the Chinese pair achieved a draw, yet ultimately surpassed the Indian team in the final rounds, culminating in a final score of 14-16.

India has achieved good success in shooting at the ongoing quadrennial extravaganza, amassing a total of 19 medals comprising six golds, eight silvers, and five bronzes. This outstanding performance surpasses India's previous record set at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, making it their most successful participation to date.
