Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to wed his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, in a historic location. After dating for nine years, Ronaldo, 40, and Georgina, 31, confirmed their engagement in August.
Jornal da Madeira reports that Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to have the wedding in his hometown of Madeira, which is anticipated to happen in the summer following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Additionally, the Al-Nassr star has chosen to hold the ceremony at the Funchal Cathedral and the reception at a posh hotel. Founded in 1514, the church is the oldest house of worship in the star forward’s hometown.

Due to its central location and carved Madeira cedar wood roof, the spot is regarded as the religious centre of the area.
Because it is fewer than two miles from the hospital where he was born, the area holds particular significance for the Portugal national team captain. Additionally, Nacional da Madeira, the Manchester United legend’s youth club, happens to be nearby.
The legendary Real Madrid player played for Nacional for two years before joining Sporting Lisbon in 1997, at the age of twelve.
Georgina first met Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016 while she was employed at a Gucci store in Spain. It was during the period when the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was employed with Real Madrid.
Together, they have two children, Alana Martina, who is seven years old, and Bella Esmeralda, who is three. Furthermore, the former Juventus star’s three children were born to two surrogate mothers.
