The men's team has won three successive matches in the competition.

The Indian men's and women's table tennis teams secured convincing victories in their respective final group stage matches at the Asian Games 2023 on Saturday, 23rd September. Kicking off the day, the women's team triumphed with a commanding 3-0 win over Nepal. Diya Parag Chitale, Ayhika Mukherjee and Sutirtha Mukherjee didn’t give their opponents a single hint of having the upper hand.

Youngster Diya Parag Chitale started the proceedings by securing a resounding victory over Sikka Shrestha with a scoreline of 11-1, 11-6, 11-8. In the following match Ayhika Mukherjee displayed her exceptional skills as she defeated Nabita Shrestha with a commanding 11-3, 11-7, 11-2 scoreline. Furthermore, Sutirtha Mukherjee showcased her dominance by triumphing over Evana Magar Thapa with an impressive score of 11-1,11-5,11-2.

Subsequently, the men's team also effortlessly defeated Tajikistan with a 3-0 victory. In the first match of the tie, Manav Thakkar emerged victorious by defeating Mahmudov Afzalkhon with a score of 11-8, 11-5, 11-8. Following that, Manush Shah triumphed over Ubaydullo Sultonov, securing a win with a score of 13-11, 11-7, 11-5. Furthermore, Harmeet Desai showcased a remarkable performance, defeating Ibrokhim Ismoilzoda with a score of 11-1, 11-3, 11-5.

The men's team were assigned to Group F, alongside Singapore, Yemen, and Tajikistan. Similarly, the women's team too was placed in Group F, competing alongside Singapore and Nepal. Both the men's and women's teams have emerged victorious in their respective preliminary group stage matches, thereby securing the top spot in respective groups.

A victory over Nepal marked the second win for the women's team, following their triumph over Singapore earlier. On the other hand, the men's team clinched their third consecutive victory, adding to their previous wins against Yemen and Singapore yesterday (September 22nd).
