Manika Batra has encouraged the fans for their support at Paris Olympics 2024.

The Paris Olympics 2024 has seen the Indian athletes reaching new heights at the games. One of the most prominent athletes at the games has been Manika Batra. The experienced paddler has shared her experience at Paris on social media and further asked the fans to support them as the team events were about to start at the games.

The 29-year-old mentioned that it had been a privilege to play against the top players of the world at Paris Olympics 2024. Manika Batra also stated that she fulfilled the dream of that “4-year-old girl“ who trained in Naraina vihar, Delhi to represent the nation at the Olympic games. Batra also posted her childhood on social media along with the heartfelt words about her feelings for the game.

The team events in table tennis will begin from August 5 as the Indian women’s team will face Romania at 1:30 PM in South Paris Arena in the round of 16. Meanwhile, the men’s team will have a tough start against China on August 6 at 1:30 PM in South Paris Arena in the round of 16. It is the first time that India is competing in the table tennis team event at the Olympics.

Manika Batra had become the first paddler to enter the round of 16 at the summer games during Paris Olympics 2024. She had defeated Anna Hursey of Great Britain in the opening round and had a smooth outing against Prithika Pavade from France. In the round of 16 she lost to Japanese Miu Hirano in five games.

Batra will be leading the women’s team along with Sreeja Akula. Both players had reached the pre quarter-finals in the singles event. Archana Girish Kamath will also be in the team as Ayhika Mukherjee will be the reserve player. The women’s team are seeded 11th at Paris Olympics 2024.

The men’s team will be led by five-time Olympian,  Achanta Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakar. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran will be the reserve player for the team. The men’s team are seeded 11th at Paris Olympics 2024.

The Indian fans have already shown their support at Paris with loud cheers for the athletes. They will be again at Paris to motivate Batra and co while they hope to create history for the nation in the coming days.
