Rod Laver Arena named after Australian legend Rod Laver is a multipurpose arena located in Melbourne, Australia. This stadium is one of the main venues for the Australian Open, and all the categories' finals are held here. The arena was the first tennis venue in the world and the first arena of any kind in Australia to have a retractable roof installed. The centre court has a seating capacity of 15400 and is one of the highest for a tennis stadium across the world.

Novak Djokovic is the reigning Australian Open champion winning the tournament ten times and also holds the record for winning the most number consecutive match at the Rod Laver Arena.

5. (22) Novak Djokovic (2011-2014)

The Serbian current world number one was starting to peak in 2011 and won three consecutive Australian Open (2011,2012, and 2013). Djokovic made it to the quarterfinals of the 2014 edition but lost to eventual champion Stanislas Wawrinka from Switzerland. In 2011 Djokovic won the title by defeating Andy Murray from Great Britain in straight sets (6-4,6-2,6-3), and in 2012 defeated Rafael Nadal in a tough battle lasting five sets (5-,6-4,6-2,6-7,7-5). 

His early success in the 2010s made him attain world number status and went on to beat higher-ranked compatriots.

4. (25) Martina Hingis (1997-2000)

The former Swiss international won three successive Australian Open titles (1997,1998, and 1999) and overall has won seven grand slam titles. Hingis has won multiple times only at the Australian Open and also went on to top the women’s singles rankings. In 1997 as a fourth seed, she beat unseeded Mary Pierce comfortably in straight sets (6-2,6-2), in 1998 as the top seed defeated Conchita Martinez (6-3,6-3), and in 1999 defeated Mauresmo (6-2,6-3). She went on to reach the finals in the 2000 edition but lost in the finals to Davenport breaking her unbeaten run.

3. (25) Andre Agassi (2000-2004)

Four-time Australian Open champion Andre Agassi had a five-year unbeaten run at the Rod Laver Arena and the Australian Open. The American won three editions in a gap of four years (2000,2001, and 2003) and missed out on the 2002 edition due to an injury. Andre Agassi defeated Kafelnikov(3-6,6-3,6-2,6-4) in 2000, defeated French international Arnaud Clement (6-4,6-2,6-2) in straight sets in 2001, and then won his final Australian Open title by defeating German Schuttler (6-2,6-2,6-1). The American won his first Australian Open title in the 1995 edition.

2. (26) Monica Seles (1991-1999)

Monica Seles of the USA is the only player in the top 5 list to have an unbeaten run at the Rod Laver Arena for eight long years. Seles has won four Australian Open titles and three on the trot (1991,1992, and 1993). Until 1994, she was representing (Yugoslavia and FR Yugoslavia) and then shifted her home base to the United States of America. Monica Seles also has a special connection with Australia winning the bronze medal at the Olympics Games in 2000.

1. (28) Novak Djokovic (2019-Present)

Novak Djokovic features for the second time in this list and this time he is on an unbeaten streak which might continue until next year. After being deported in 2022, the Serbian bounced back strongly in 2023 and won all the matches. He started the season in Adelaide International I and then subsequently showed his prowess at the Australian Open. The only set he lost in Rod Laver Arena and the 2023 Australian Open was against the French player Couacaud. Djokovic also enjoys an unbeaten streak on Australian soil since 2019 and has made Australia a happy hunting home.
