Hello and welcome to the live blog of Khel Now for Day 1 of the Tata Open Maharashtra 2023.

The fifth edition of the ATP 250 Tata Open Maharashtra is set to be held from 2-7 January 2023. The world’s top players will participate in South Asia’s only ATP tournament. The qualifying rounds in the singles section got concluded on 1st January with Ramkumar Ramanathan the only Indian to make the cut into the main draw. The day 1 action starts at 02:00 PM with Manas Dhamne set to take on M.Mmoh.

Two important Indian single matches are scheduled for today with the 15-year-old Manas Dhamne taking on M.Moh from the USA. This is the first ATP tour match for the youngster and hasn't played a challenger event to date. M.Mmoh the 24-year-old is currently ranked 113 in the ATP singles rankings and has won a total of five Challenger events. He played his last tournament in November in Challenger Drummondville where he lost in the finals. Manas will have to play really hard to win and will also gain a lot of experience.

S.Nagal will be up against the sixth seed Frajinovic who reached the third round of the French Open. Krajinovic also played in all four grand slams in 2022 and is currently ranked 54th in the ATP singles rankings. Sumit Nagal had a poor 2022 season not winning a single challenger event.
