These are the second-highest-tier events in the calendar year of women's tennis.

The Tennis WTA 1000 tournaments have mandatory and non-mandatory events as part of their itinerary. Overall there are four WTA 1000 tournaments that are mandatory: Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid and Beijing and five non-mandatory tournaments: Dubai, Rome, Canada, Cincinnati and Wuhan. The winner in the mandatory tournaments fetches 1000 ranking points whereas, in the non-mandatory tournaments, it fetches 900 ranking points.

February 19-25 - Dubai Open

The 2023 season started off with the WTA Dubai Masters Barbora Krejcicova defeating World No. 1 Iga Swiatek to claim the title. Veronika Kudermetova and Liudmila Samsonova were champions in the doubles section.

March 06-19 - Indian Wells Masters

Elena Rybakina defeated Aryna Sabalenka to claim the singles title whereas Dubai Masters singles champion Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova claimed the doubles title.

March 21-02 April - Miami Open

Petra Kvitova became the second player from the Czech Republic (after Barbora Krejcikova) to claim the Masters singles title. Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula after missing out on the singles title claimed the doubles defeating country mate Taylor Townsend and Canadian Leylah Fernandez. 

April 25-07 May - Madrid Open

The clay season for women's tennis is set to start with the WTA 1000 Madrid Open. Ons Jabeur (singles) and Gabriela Dabrowski / Giuliana Olmos (doubles) shall look to retain the title ahead of the French Open.  

May 09-20 - Italian Open

Aryna Sabalenka US Open

The clay season continues prior to the second grand slam (French Open) and will be held from 09 May to 20 May 2023. Iga Swiatek and Veronika Kudermetova / Pavlyuchenkova are the reigning champions in the singles and doubles section.

August 07-13 - Canadian Open

The Masters series after a break of two months will move to the hard courts ahead of the last grand slam for the 2023 season (US Open). Romanian Simona Halep and Coco Gauff/Jessica Pegula are the reigning champions in the singles and doubles section.

August 14-20 - Cincinnati Open

The Cincinnati Open will be the third Masters' tournament to be held in the USA. Former world number four Caroline Garcia and Kichenok/Ostapenka are the reigning champions in the singles and doubles section.

September 25-01 October - Wuhan Open

Wimbledon

Wuhan Open and China Open will be making their comeback into the WTA 1000 tournaments calendar (after three years). Aryna Sabalenka and Duan Yingying/Veronika Kudermetova are the reigning champions having won the title in 2019. 

October 02-09 - China Open

China Open will be the second Masters' event to be held in China (successive weeks). Naomi Osaka and Sofia Kenin / Bethanie Mattek-Sands are the reigning champions (who won the title in 2019).
