Six male and seven female players have received wildcard entry in the singles section.

US tennis legend Venus Williams has been awarded a wildcard entry in women's singles for the upcoming Wimbledon 2023 Championships set to held from July 3, 2023. This will be 43-year-old's 24th appearance at the prestigious event on grass court having won the title five times. Along with Venus Williams six others, including Elina Svitolina, were awarded a wildcard entry in the women's singles main draw.

The seven-time singles grand slam champion, Williams, is currently taking part in Birmingham Classic a pre cursor tournament before Wimbledon. After defeating Giorgi in the opening encounter, Williams will now take on second seed Jelena Ostapenko. This is elder Williams' first win in the last five months having last won a match at ASB classic in January (She participated in only one tournament).

Interestingly, seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams played her last match in the previous edition of the Wimbledon Championships and soon after decided to hang her boots.
