The tournament has expanded with more teams and bigger prizes.

The official draw for the 2024 United Cup, scheduled to take place in Perth and Sydney from December 29 to January 7, has been revealed. This year's event will see each host city accommodate nine teams, an increase of three compared to the previous year. Each team can comprise up to three men and three women, and as of now, sixteen countries have confirmed their participation. The final two slots will be filled on November 20, 2023.

The United Cup, a prestigious ATP-WTA event, is conducted in collaboration with Tennis Australia. The competition boasts a minimum prize pool of AUD $15 million and offers 500 Pepperstone ATP and 500 WTA Tour ranking points.

USA

The defending champions, USA, will compete in Group C in Perth against hosts Australia and Great Britain. Leading the American title defence are Jessica Pegula and her teammate Taylor Fritz, who played a crucial role in their 2023 victory.

In the group stage, Fritz is set to face formidable opponents in World No. 13 Alex de Minaur and World No. 18 Cameron Norrie.

Greece

A thrilling showdown is on the horizon as Stefanos Tsitsipas and Felix Auger-Aliassime are poised to lead Greece against Canada in Sydney. The Greek fortunes rest on the shoulders of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari in their matches against Canada and another yet-to-be-determined nation. Canada's squad will include the talented Leylah Fernandez.

Serbia

World No. 1, Novak Djokovic will spearhead Serbia's debut in the United Cup as they face off against China and the Czech Republic in Group E. Djokovic is joined by Hamad Medjedovic, Nikola Cacic, Olga Danilovic, Natalija Stevanovic, and Dejana Radanovic in the Serbian squad.

Djokovic is expected to encounter the Asian Games gold medalist Zhang Zhizhen from China and Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic.

Czech Republic

The reigning Wimbledon champion and World No. 6, Marketa Vondrousova, will lead the Czech team, potentially facing the rising Chinese star and World No. 18, Qinwen Zheng. Additionally, World No. 31 Jiri Lehecka might have the opportunity to meet the reigning Australian Open champion, Novak Djokovic.

Poland

Poland's campaign will be initiated by four-time Grand Slam winner and World No. 2, Iga Swiatek, along with men's World No. 11, Hubert Hurkacz. They will contend against Spain and another yet-to-be-decided nation in Group A.

Swiatek, the 22-year-old Roland Garros title defender, and Hurkacz, a recent Masters 1000 title winner in Shanghai, will be key players. Hurkacz could potentially face his Wimbledon rival, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, as he aims to level their head-to-head record.
