The tennis legend will be among 10 women will be bestowed with the honour as part of class of 2024.

Tennis icon and 23-time women's singles grand slam champion, Serena Williams, has been chosen for induction into the esteemed National Women's Hall of Fame, alongside a group of 10 remarkable women. This momentous occasion will take place during Women's History Month in March.

Williams, who retired from tennis in September 2022, is among the most successful tennis players of all-time. She won 23 Grand Slam women's singles titles, the most in the Open Era and 14 Grand Slam titles in doubles with her sister Venus. Serena is also the only player to achieve a career Golden Slam in both singles and doubles.

Apart from her achievements on the court, Serena Williams has also championed causes for women's rights and equality and social justice among others. She will join the likes of Billie Jean King and Athea Gibson in the prestigious club.

The ceremony will be held in Seneca Falls, New York, a historically significant location as it was where the first-ever women's rights convention was held in 1848.

The "Hall" holds the title of being the America's inaugural and most ancient nonprofit institution and museum that is wholly committed to paying tribute to and commemorating the remarkable accomplishments of esteemed American women.

Located in Seneca Falls, New York, the hall has graciously welcomed over 300 esteemed inductees since its inception in 1973. These remarkable individuals encompass a distinguished array of prominent American women from diverse backgrounds, careers, and origins.

Serena Williams' Achievements

Serena Williams is widely regarded as one of the most exceptional female tennis players to have ever graced the court. Throughout her career in the open era, she has triumphed in an astounding 23 grand slam singles tournaments, an unparalleled accomplishment.

This achievement not only places her at the pinnacle of the open era, but also ranks her second in the all-time record. 

Moreover, Serena has amassed an impressive collection of 14 grand slam victories in women's doubles and an additional two grand slams in mixed doubles. Her extraordinary achievements go beyond the grand slams, as she proudly holds a tally of four Olympic gold medals, consisting of three doubles and one singles medal. She is also the sole player to have achieved a career grand slam in both singles and doubles.

Serena boasts an impressive track record in her professional career, having achieved a remarkable 858 victories, corresponding to a winning percentage of 84.6%.
