Novak Djokovic will return to tennis at Indian Wells Open 2024 after a brief hiatus.

Tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, recently appeared at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to support his fellow Serbian, Nikola Jokic. Djokovic is currently in the United States, where he is set to participate in the BNP Paribas Open ATP 1000 event at Indian Wells. This Masters event, which is the first of the Sunshine Double, is scheduled to commence on March 6.

While Jokic has carved out a reputation as one of the NBA’s most prominent players, Djokovic is arguably the greatest player in the history of men’s tennis in the Open Era. The current World No. 1 boasts a remarkable collection of 24 Grand Slam titles in his career, the highest by any male player and equal to Margaret Court’s record of 24 major trophies.

His compatriot Jokic was on fire as he led his team, the Denver Nuggets, to victory over the LA Lakers at the Los Angeles venue on Saturday. With this recent win, the Nuggets now hold the third position in the Western Conference standings with a win-loss record of 42-19 in the 2023-24 season. This victory also marks Denver’s eighth consecutive win over the Lakers.

The Serbian basketball player spoiled any celebration plans LeBron James might have had on the night James became the first NBA player to accumulate 40,000 career points. Jokic scored 35 points and secured 10 rebounds as the Nuggets recovered from an 11-point deficit to secure a 124-114 win. Michael Porter Jr contributed 25 points as the visitors extended their winning streak to six games.

The 36-year-old Djokovic took a brief hiatus following an early setback in the 2024 tennis season. His campaign at the 2024 Australian Open concluded prematurely after losing the semifinal match against Italy’s Jannik Sinner with a score of 6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3. The 2024 BNP Paribas Open will mark the World No. 1’s first appearance in five years.
