Jannik Sinner was eliminated in the 2024 Canadian Open quarterfinals by eventual runner-up Andrey Rublev.
Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner and Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya were recently spotted walking together in Cincinnati ahead of the Masters event.
Last week, the two tennis stars unfollowed each other on social media platform Instagram. As per multiple reports, it was stated that the two have parted ways just weeks after the couple was spotted on a vacation together in Sardinia, Italy.
Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya started dating each other in May earlier this year. At the 2024 French Open, the Italian tennis star confirmed the rumors of being in a relationship with Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya.
The ATP World No. #1 also attended Kalinskaya’s matches at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. After unfollowing each other, the two started following each other on Instagram again. However, no official confirmation has been provided by Jannik Sinner or Anna Kalinskaya.
Ahead of the 2024 Cincinnati Masters, Sinner stated that he’s happy to return to the United States and he’s aiming to get in form ahead of the 2024 US Open.
He said (via ATP Media), “Obviously in Canada, we saw some little issues you know, just talking about my physical shape. But you know, I’m just happy to be back. Hopefully, I can get a couple of matches here before the U.S. Open which I believe is very important…”
At the 2024 Canadian Open, he lost to Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals in three sets. Throughout the match, the Italian tennis star was seen suffering from a hip injury. His coach was seen advising him to demand a doctor and take a medical timeout.
He suffered a hip injury during the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters before he eventually withdrew from the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open.
The ATP World No. 1 also suffered from injury concerns during the French Open, where he was eliminated in the semifinals by eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz. At the Wimbledon Championships, he lost to Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals in five sets. However, the Australian Open champion will aim to win his second Grand Slam title of the season too.
