Andy Murray played his last professional match at the Olympics against Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray recently took to social media and uploaded a hilarious picture. The two-time Wimbledon champion retired from professional tennis after the 2024 Paris Olympics. He teamed up with Daniel Evans to play in the men’s doubles event at the Paris Olympics.

Before the Olympics, a heartwarming ceremony was also organized for the former tennis star at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Andy Murray teamed up with his brother Jamie Murray to play his last match at Wimbledon. However, the match eventually ended in a loss for the brothers.

He also earned a wildcard in the mixed doubles category alongside Emma Raducanu. However, Raducanu eventually withdrew from the mixed doubles event due to injury concerns. At the Centre Court ceremony, the likes of Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek were present.

Meanwhile, videos from Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Venus Williams were also displayed at the arena. Later, Serena Williams, who played doubles alongside Murray in 2019, also uploaded a video of the three-time Grand Slam champion’s retirement.

After an emotional farewell from the sport, the Brit has started giving updates on his life post-retirement. Andy Murray recently took to social media and uploaded a picture where he can be seen wearing a face mask and a hair-cutting apron.

He captioned the post, “I knew retirement was going to hit me hard.” However, the former tennis star has already hinted at playing a new sport after retirement. His current X (formerly Twitter) bio reads, “I played tennis, I now play golf.”

He said in 2021 (via Gentleman’s Journal), “I love sport, so something else that would interest me post-playing would be working in another sport. I got asked about this a little while ago and, because I really like golf, being a caddie on a golf tour would be exciting – to be up close and personal with top golfers and to learn about another sport like that.”
