How does top 10 of ATP rankings look after Canadian Open 2025?

Ben Shelton reaches career high of #6, displaces Djokovic after Canadian Open 2025 triumph.

Ben Shelton staged a fine comeback after dropping the opening set to beat Karen Khachanov in the finals, clinching his maiden Masters trophy to reach a career-best ranking of #6. The American overcame a formidable pool of top-ranked stars, including second seed Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, to reach the finals.

Despite the Canadian Open 2025 being a high-profile event missed by most higher-ranked players, Shelton’s heroics cannot be understated. Fritz further enhanced his hold at #4 of the ATP rankings, while Jannik Sinner dropped a few points but continues to hold his guard comfortably at the top.

Novak Djokovic will miss the entire North American swing, and having fallen to #7 after Shelton’s triumph, could slip further down the ranks if a lower-ranked player enjoys a deep run in the upcoming ATP Masters tournament.

Shelton is now chasing the top 5, with Jack Draper set to return to action at the US Open. Moreover, Fritz would be eyeing a maiden top-3 spot, with Zverev’s poor form including a semi-final loss to 11th seed Khachanov amongst a depleted draw

Lorenzo Musetti has dropped out of the top 10 rankings due to a string of poor performances since the end of the clay season. The Italian was knocked out of the Toronto Open by Alex Michelsen in the round of 32 clash.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina reached a career-best ranking of #18 for reaching the fourth round, while Alexei Popyrin, last year’s defending champion, fell in the quarterfinals, but still managed to secure a career-best World No. 19 ranking.
