Sania Mirza, Rajeev Ram fail to make Australian Open 2022 semi-finals

Rafael Nadal reached his seventh semi-final at Melbourne Park.

Sania Mirza's journey at the Australian Open in the final year of her career came to an end. She failed to make it to the semi-finals. Sania had already announced her retirement after she crashed out of the women's doubles at the Australian Open 2022.

The Indo-American duo of Sania Mirza and Rajeev Ram lost 4-6, 6-7 to wild card entries Jaimee Fourlis and Jason Kubler. The match ended in just one hour.

Nadal reaches semis

Rafael Nadal won 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3 to reach his seventh semi-final at the Australian Open. Nadal defeated Dennis Shapovalov in four long hours. Despite losing, Shapovalov put up a gutsy fight and made it difficult for Nadal. It was a tight match, with a sheer display of hunger from Shapovalov. However, Nadal's experience gave him the edge.

Ashleigh Barty crushes Pegula

Ashleigh Barty defeated Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-0 to reach the semi-finals. It took her merely 63 minutes to finish the match. Barty, maintaining her momentum, switched to high gears at the right moment in the match. She is moving ahead like a juggernaut and remains one of the favourites to win the title. 

Keys upsets Krejcikova

Unseeded Madison Keys reached the Australian Open semi-final after defeating No. 4 seed Barbora Krejcikova. She beat her in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Keys finished the match in just 1 hr 25 minutes, booking her semi-final berth.

Mixed Doubles

The World No. 5 pair of Kristina Mladenovic and Ivan Dodig defeated the home team of Michael Venus and Erin Routliffe 6-4, 6-2, crushing their hopes in the mixed doubles category at the Australian Open.

John Peers and Shuai Zhang defeated Ben Mclachlan and Ena Shibahara 6-4, 6-4 and moved ahead in the Australian Open. The World No. 2 pair are amongst the top favorites to win the title.

Gonzalo Escobar and Lucie Hradecka defeated the pair of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Makoto Ninomiya 7-5, 7-5 in straight sets.

Men's Doubles

Michael Venus and Tim Putz have been eliminated from the Australian Open by the pair of Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis. The World No. 6 duo lost the contest 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 to the local pair. 

The pair of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos defeated John Peers and Filip Polasek 7-6, 6-4. They finished the match in 1 hour 49 minutes and progressed to the top four.

Women's Doubles

The pair of Anna Danilina and Beatriz Haddad Maia defeated the pair of Anastasia Potapova and Rebecca Peterson 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the Australian Open to make it to the semi-finals. The unseeded pair of Anna and Beatriz will look to clinch the title this year.

Petra Martic and Shelby Rogers lost the quarter-final at the hands of World No. 2 pair of Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara 6-1, 6-4. The experience of the victorious duo was evident throughout the match.
