'You can ask her' - Cameron Norrie fumes after being asked about his relationship with Emma Raducanu

A ridiculous question left Cameron Norrie stunned during the post-match press conference at Wimbledon 2025.
Cameron Norrie is the only male British player to qualify for the Wimbledon 2025 quarter-finals. However, his campaign ended in the quarter-final. The local favourite has enjoyed an excellent last three weeks, having reached the semi-finals of Geneva and the fourth round at Roland Garros previously.
He has overcome some feisty battles in his campaign, including four-setter victories over Roberto Bautista Agut, 12th seed Frances Tiafoe, and finally a dominant straight-set win against Italy’s Mattia Bellucci.
However, a massive controversy broke out after Norrie triumphed over Bellucci. As per protocol, all players have to attend a post-match press conference. In the conference, the British No. 2 was directly asked if he was dating fellow counterpart Emma Raducanu.
“Apart from everyone here loving the tennis, some of the gossip has been about who Emma Raducanu is dating. Can I ask if you’re dating her?” The absurd question left everyone shocked and speechless, including Cameron Norrie, who certainly didn’t expect this to happen.
A stunned Norrie mumbled, “Sorry?”, but the reporter did not backtrack and asked his question again, “I was wondering if you’re dating her, please.”
This time, with a far more direct response, the 29-year-old stated:
“I’m not, no. You can ask her (about her dating life). I don’t know.”
The journalists involved in these meetings have previously faced criticism for their unprofessional attitude and lack of understanding of the game. A reporter had earlier congratulated Paula Badosa for her win when she lost her opening round to Katie Boulter.
Raducanu has faced a slew of questions about her personal life since the US Open mixed doubles teams were announced. In a rare instance where top singles players are set to pair up, Carlos Alcaraz and Raducanu have stolen most of the spotlight, with the duo being labelled as the partnership to watch out for at Flushing Meadows.
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka stopped Raducanu’s campaign at SW19, while two-time defending champion Alcaraz defeated Norrie in the quarter-final.
