Roger Federer is reportedly expected to join the commentary box for the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer has revealed his plans for the summer by stating that he will be watching multiple sporting events.

During a recent interview with the BBC, Federer talked about his retirement and several other things. He was asked whether he’d watch the 2024 Euro Championship.

In response to the question, Federer stated that he will watch the 2024 Euro Championships, the Paris Olympics and Wimbledon. He said, “I would be watching the Euros, I mean, I’ve been watching Roland-Garros. I’m going to be watching Wimbledon, the Euros, the Olympics. As a sports fan, this is the time to be alive.”

The eight-time Wimbledon champion also affirmed that he’s happy with Switzerland qualifying for the European tournament. Switzerland have been drawn in Group A at the Euro Championship alongside Hungary, Scotland and Germany.

He said, “The group is good. I think we’ve had similar groups in the past for Switzerland – I’m happy now we’ve got Scotland, Hungary and Germany. I’ll have to tease (Andy) Murray and he’s actually better than me at that!”

The Swiss will commence their campaign against Dominik Szoboszlai’s Hungary on Saturday, May 15. Later, they’ll face Andrew Robertson’s Scotland on June 19 and Germany on June 23.

In the same interview, the former Swiss tennis star also talked about his recently released Amazon Prime documentary ‘Federer: Twelve Final Days.’ In the documentary, his children can be seen wearing an Arsenal shirt, despite Roger Federer being a huge FC Basel supporter.

Federer stated that Thierry Henry sent his kids the Arsenal jerseys and the French football legend is a good friend of his too. The 42-year-old said, “The boys were coming back from football practice. They walked through the elevator, I looked at them and they are wearing Arsenal jerseys in the film.”

Roger Federer added, “I’m like where is the FC Basel shirt that’s what my favourite club is. The Arsenal jerseys, they were just received shortly before from Thierry Henry, who is a good friend of mine. We have been on vacations.”
