Tomas Machac will aim to progress to the fourth round in Roland Garros for the first time.

Daniil Medvedev advanced to the third round of French Open 2024 when his second-round opponent, Miomir Kecmanovic, retired in the second set. Medvedev was leading 6-1, 5-0 when play was stopped 55 minutes into the game on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

The fifth seed played some flawless tennis for the short time he was on the court, making just six unforced errors. The win meant Medvedev has improved to 4-0 in the pair’s head-to-head. The World No. #5 plays Czech Tomas Machac next and remains in the hunt for his second major.

While Medvedev had it easy in the second round, Tomas Machac had to fight hard to get past Mariano Navone. Machac ultimately prevailed 6-2, 6-1, 3-6, 1-6, 6-1 in a second-round match lasting nearly three hours.
