Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden have only won one of their four matches on clay this season.

The Indo-Aussie pair of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden will play their first round match at the 2024 French Open against Emil Ruusuvuori and Márton Fucsovics on May 28, Tuesday.

Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden started their year with a huge triumph at the 2024 Australian Open. They defeated the Italian duo of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori 7-6, 7-5 to win the prestigious Grand Slam title in Melbourne.

In March, they also won the 2024 Miami Open in a thrilling fixture against Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek. However, since the start of the clay season, the Indo-Aussie pair has struggled to win their first round matches. They were eliminated in the first round at the Monte-Carlo Masters and the Madrid Open.

They won their match at the Italian Open; however, home hope Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori took redemption by halting Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden’s run in the second round in Rome. As a result of the disappointing performances, they also lost their top spot in the ATP rankings.

Last month, they won the Munich Open by defeating home favourites Jan-Lennard Struff and Andreas Mies in the final in straight sets. In addition to that, they also reached the final of the recently-concluded Lyon Open.

At the French Open, Albano Olivetti will also be getting home support and as per the pair’s recent form, they are expected to perform better at the 2024 Roland-Garros.
