Novak Djokovic recently announced that he will participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

ATP World No. #1 Novak Djokovic recently took to social media to send a message to his fans and supporters, who wished him a happy birthday.

Djokovic is currently in Switzerland, playing at the ATP 250 Geneva Open. The Serb received a first-round bye, and he defeated Yannick Hanfmann 6-3, 6-3 in the second round to secure a spot in the quarter-final.

For the first time, the Serb was playing on his birthday. Thus, after the win, the organisers of the ATP 250 event brought a cake for Novak Djokovic. As per his reactions, it seemed like the Serb loved the cake. Moreover, he also shared the cake with the ball kids and all the officials present on the court.

The 24-year-old later took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a post expressing gratitude towards his fans. He wrote in his post, “That was definitely a unique birthday celebration. I’ve received so much love from all of you and sealed it with a W. Love for me, win for you! See you again tomorrow. Same office, older guy”.

After an early exit in the 2024 Italian Open, Novak Djokovic decided to take part in the Geneva Open to get matches before Roland Garros. The Serb can face the likes of Casper Ruud and Sebastian Baez in the upcoming rounds.

However, the 37-year-old is yet to win a title in 2024. In January, the Serb failed to defend his Australian Open title while he lost in the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters against two-time Roland Garros runner-up Casper Ruud. In addition to that, Djokovic’s campaign in Indian Wells and Rome ended in the third round.

Novak Djokovic will aim to defend his title at the 2024 French Open. If he fails to reach the semi-finals of the clay-court major, he will lose his World No. 1 ranking to Jannik Sinner. The Serb has 2000 ATP Ranking points to defend while Sinner only has 45.

As of now, Djokovic has been given the top spot in the first entry list of the Wimbledon Championships.
