A video clip of Iga Swiatek playing football has resurfaced on social media after Poland suffered a 2-1 loss against the Netherlands at the 2024 European Championships.

Poland have been drawn in Group D at Euro 2024 alongside France, the Netherlands and Austria. They faced the Dutch in their first group match on Sunday, June 16. Adam Buksa broke the deadlock in the 16th minute, however, goals from Cody Gakpo (29′) and Wout Weghorst (83′) guided the Netherlands to a 2-1 victory.

After the match, a video clip of Polish tennis star and five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek playing football went viral on social media. In the video, the World No. 1 can be seen doing keep-ups with a ball. In addition, she also nutmegged someone and scored a goal while playing football in the short compilation. Here is the video:

Iga Swiatek recently visited American pop singer Taylor Swift’s show in Edinburgh, Scotland. She also received a special letter from the American singer after the concert, which read, “Iga, congratulations on winning the French Open.”

The Pole later took to social media and uploaded a picture with the letter, where she can be seen crying and holding the letter. She captioned the post, “Dead. Yes, I cried many times during the show. Yes, it was incredible. You are amazing. @taylorswift13.”

Iga Swiatek recently played at the 2024 French Open, where he defeated Italy’s Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 to win her third consecutive Roland-Garros title. She’s expected to return in action at the 2024 Bad Homberg Open or the Rothesay Open, scheduled from June 23 to 29, for the preparation of the Wimbledon Championships.

Last year, she was eliminated in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon by wildcard Elina Svitolina. Thus, the Pole will be keen to display her clay-like prowess on grass too.
