US Open 2025: Which Indian players will participate at Flushing Meadows?

No Indian player will participate in the main draw of the US Open 2025 men’s singles.

The US Open 2025 is set to kick off on August 25 (Monday IST) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows. The season’s final Grand Slam will host 128 singles players and 64 doubles teams—but how many of them will be representing India? Let’s find out.

India’s top men’s singles player, Sumit Nagal, who played in the main draw last year, missed out this time after falling outside the top 300 in ATP rankings.

With that, India will not have any direct representation in men’s singles at the US Open 2025. Meanwhile, Nishesh Basavareddy, an American player of Indian origin, has received a wildcard entry; he represents the United States, not India.

In men’s doubles, the two-time Grand Slam champion Rohan Bopanna will feature once again. The 45-year-old is partnering with Romain Arneodo of Monaco, with whom he recently played at the Winston-Salem Open, reaching the quarterfinals.

The Indian veteran holds the record for being the oldest player in the Open Era to reach a men’s doubles Grand Slam final in 2023 at Flushing Meadows. He has reached two men’s doubles finals in the tournament’s history in 2010 and 2023.

In 2024, he reached the men’s doubles third round and the mixed doubles semifinals. This year marks Rohan Bopanna’s 16th consecutive appearance at the US Open.

India’s doubles specialist Yuki Bhambri is also expected to compete at the US Open 2025. Currently ranked World No. 35, the Indian achieved his career-high of No. 26 in March 2025. Bhambri reached the third round of the US Open doubles last year.

The complete men’s doubles draw will be announced on August 27. After this, we will know whether there is any other Indian pair in this competition or not.
