Aryna Sabalenka has reached the semi-finals of the Italian Open for the second time.

Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka has advanced to the Italian Open 2024 semi-finals following her win against Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets on Wednesday, May 15.

Second seed Sabalenka will face 13th seed Danielle Collins for the final spot. The 26-year-old will look forward to continuing her dream run in Rome, as she has been in top form this season.

The World No. 2 would be eyeing her maiden title in Rome. Apart from winning the Australian Open, she also reached the final of the Madrid Open, where she suffered a disappointing loss against Iga Swiatek. Danielle Collins, meanwhile, has already won two titles this season. Moreover, she has lost only once in her last 20 matches.

Moreover, Aryna Sabalenka has smashed 137 aces and committed 87 double faults this season. Also, Sabalenka has won 78% of her service games and 36.5% of her return games on the tour in the ongoing campaign.

Meanwhile, the American tennis star is enjoying a stellar clay season. In her last 20 matches, she has lost only once. The loss came in the fourth round of the Madrid Open against Aryna Sabalenka. In addition, she has not dropped a single set in Rome. In her last match, Collins beat former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 6-3.

Where and how to watch live streaming and TV broadcast of Aryna Sabalenka vs Danielle Collins, Italian Open 2024, semi-final in India?

Unfortunately, there won’t be a live telecast of the WTA 1000 matches in India. However, fans can catch the live action of this clash on Tennis TV as well as on WTA TV.

Prediction

Aryna Sabalenka has won 24 out of her 30 matches in 2024. She defeated last year’s semi-finalist, Jelena Ostapenko, in straight sets to advance to the last four. It was her second straight win in the tournament. Sabalenka had finished as a runner-up in Madrid before commencing her campaign in Rome.

Meanwhile, Collins has secured 12 wins out of her 13 matches on clay so far. Out of their five meetings so far on the tour, three have come at the US Open. They first faced each other at the 2018 US Open, where Sabalenka emerged victorious by 6-0, 4-6, 6-4.

If we look at the numbers from their last encounter, at the 2024 Madrid Open, Collins managed to hit five aces and commit four double faults against Sabalenka. On the other hand, the Belarusian smashed four aces and also committed the same number of double faults in that match.

Currently, Collins has a win-loss record of 32-8 and Sabalenka has 24-6. Although Sabalenka has dominated Collins in their previous face-offs, the American tennis player would be hungry to take revenge on Sabalenka to end her 5-0 winning streak.

Prediction: Sabalenka to win in three sets
