Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has parted ways with trainer Umberto Ferrara and physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi after the doping decision controversy.
Umberto Ferrara and Giacomo Naldi were crucial parts of the Italian tennis star’s team. Thus, the ATP World No. #1 is expected to face troubles in a few upcoming months. The decision has come after Sinner was caught in doping controversy after two failed tests.
As per reports, Sinner failed two doping tests during the 2024 Indian Wells Masters in March. However, he was still allowed to play at the ATP 1000 Masters event. After Sinner won the 2024 Cincinnati Open, he took to social media and uploaded a post, where it was stated that the tribunal had found him not guilty of doping.
It was revealed in the report that Sinner’s physiotherapist applied cream to a wound on his hand without using gloves, eventually leading to the drug getting mixed in his blood.

Jannik Sinner tested positive for Clostebol, a banned substance in sports. Clostebol is an anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS) that is derived from testosterone. The substance is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). As per the aforementioned post, he had a trace element of the substance in his body, which is less than a billionth of a gram.
Other tennis stars such as Nick Kyrgios, Liam Broady and Denis Shapovalov called out Sinner and ITIA for mishandling the case. Social media was also outraged as people stated that the Italian would have been banned for two years for drug usage. However, the Italian tennis star will be stripped of the prize money and points he won at the Indian Wells Masters.
