Katie Boulter has won two WTA titles in 2024.
British tennis star Katie Boulter has revealed that representing Great Britain at the Olympics is her childhood dream. She is set to fulfill her childhood dream at Paris Olympics 2024.
During a recent interview with LTA, the British tennis star revealed that she got to know about the news via a phone call. She said, “I got a phone call from the Head of Women’s Tennis (Iain Bates), and he called me to let me know that I was going to be in the team.
Boulter, 27, added, “I was walking down the street in Loughborough, and I screamed a little bit too loud, so a few people looked at me a little bit strange. I still remember it; it’s going to be a special moment. I’m looking forward to it and putting on the flag – it’s going to be so fun to be a part of.”
She will compete in women’s singles as well as doubles category in the French capital. Boulter, who has never made it past the third round at Grand Slams, will team up with Heather Watson in women’s doubles event. She also added, “I’m really looking forward to being a part of it. And it’s something I’ve always dreamt of as a little girl.”
Last year, in June, Katie Boulter won her first WTA title: the Rothesay Open in Nottingham. However, the British tennis star has exhibited brilliant form in 2024 too. Earlier this year, she won the WTA 500 San Diego Open after beating Marta Kostyuk in the championship match.

The tennis events at Paris Olympics 2024 will be played at the Stade Roland Garros. Interestingly, Katie Boulter has played only one match at the French Open venue, where she lost against Paula Badosa.
This season, the Brit has a win-loss record of 24-13 and she’s currently 33 in WTA World rankings. The 27-year-old can face troubles at the Olympics as clay is not her preferred surface. The other names of the Great Britain tennis team are Andy Murray, Jack Draper, Dan Evans, Cameron Norrie, Joe Salisbury, Neal Skupski, and Heather Watson.
Murray will play his last professional tennis tournament in Paris. Meanwhile, Jack Draper will be making his Olympic debut for Great Britain. Emma Raducanu, who reached the fourth round of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, will miss the Paris Olympics due to fitness concerns.
