Denis Shapovalov knocked out Russia's Karen Khachanov.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic comfortably made it through to the semi-finals of Wimbledon, after seeing off Marton Fucsovics in the quarterfinals. The Serb looks like a man on a mission in the ongoing grass court Grand Slam. It was always going to be a tough task for Fucsovics against an opponent, who has been in all-conquering form this season.

The Hungarian, who was the only unseeded player left in the men's singles event, was appearing in his first Wimbledon quarterfinal. On the other hand, this was Djokovic's 12th Wimbledon quarterfinal match. Fucsovics did win a 21-stroke rally in the first set and performed commendably in the second and third. Ultimately, the Serbian clinched the contest in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to record his 100th tour win on grass.

On the other hand, Roger Federer suffered a shock exit in the last 16 of the tournament. Poland's Hubert Hurkacz defeated Federer by a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-0. Hurkacz is the first player to beat Roger Federer in straight sets at Wimbledon in 19 years.

Elsewhere, Indian tennis superstars Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna failed to reach the quarterfinals in the mixed doubles event. The Indian pair was back on the court to resume their last 16 match against the Dutch-Slovenian duo of Jean Julien-Rojer and Andreja Klepac. The match was interrupted by rain several times on Tuesday.

Mirza and Bopanna were a set down, but started the day's play with more gusto. They romped through to win the second set, before an end-to-end contest ensued in a marathon final set. The Indians fell just short in the end, bowing out after a 3-6, 6-2, 9-11 loss.

Shapovalov reaches maiden major last four

In another men's singles quarterfinal, Denis Shapovalov made it through to his first-ever Grand Slam semi-final. The former junior Wimbledon champion beat Karen Khachanov of Russia to come out on top in an epic five-set encounter. The 10th seed Canadian won the first set, before Khachanov came roaring back to win the following two.

However, Shapovalov won't lie down, as he went onto clinch the fourth set to send the match into a decisive fifth set. It was a test of nerves for two players who were on the verge of reaching unfamiliar territory. In the end, it was Shapovalov who withstood the test to win 6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4. A daunting match-up against Djokovic is next on the menu for the Canadian.

Raducanu continues to win hearts

Elsewhere, praise continues to pour in for Emma Raducanu. The 18-year-old has created history at the ongoing Wimbledon. Emma Raducanu became the youngest British woman to reach the last 16 of Wimbledon in the Open Era. But, she had to forfeit her match against Ajla Tomljanovic due to breathing difficulties. However, Raducanu has a bright future ahead and has won plenty of plaudits for her performances.

England national football team superstars Marcus Rashford, Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho took to Twitter to send her messages of support. Rashford tweeted, "It happened to me playing for the national team in U16s against Wales. I remember it to this day. No explanation for it and it never happened again. You should be very proud of yourself. The country is proud of you. Glad to read your feeling better. Onwards and upwards"

Bellingham wrote, "Well done for your top performances, Emma. Head up and keep going!"

Sancho quipped, "You made the Nation proud Emma!"

British teenage wildcard sensation Emma Raducanu has scripted one of the most remarkable stories of Wimbledon. Emma Raducanu dropped to the court in disbelief after outclassing World No. 45 Sorana Cirstea of Romania 6-3, 7-5 in the last 16 of the tournament. The World No. 338, who appeared in her school-leaving exams recently, was making her Grand Slam debut in the ongoing Wimbledon.
