French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova knocked out by Ashleigh Barty.

Five-time champion Novak Djokovic continued his relentless run at Wimbledon, as he beat Cristian Garin on Monday. Djokovic saw off the 17th seed 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 on the All England Club's Centre Court to reach his 50th Grand Slam quarterfinal.

The Serb looks in terrific touch this season and is hoping to clinch three successive Grand Slam titles by adding yet another Wimbledon crown. The 25-year-old Chilean was always going to be up against it, and it was a straightforward match for the World No.1. But, Djoker's long rallies and experience ultimately proved too good for the South American. Djokovic will next face Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the quarterfinals.

Roland Garros queens knocked out

Roland Garros champions of the last two editions, Barbora Krejcikova and Iga Swiatek were shown the exit door in the ongoing Wimbledon. Swiatek fell to a surprising loss against Tunisian Ons Jabeur. Jabeur won 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to become the first-ever Tunisian woman to reach the last eight at Wimbledon.

On the other hand, defending French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova also suffered a similar fate. She had a rare off-day on the court. Owing to this, World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty took full advantage. The Australian tennis player emerged victorious 7-5, 6-3 to go through to the next round.

Second seed Aryna Sabalenka will also be part of the quarterfinals. The Belarusian came back strongly from losing the first set. Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina was on the receiving end of a 3-6, 6-4, 3-6 scoreline. Sabalenka will look forward to ending Ons Jabeur's fairy-tale run in the quarterfinals.

Berrettini continues to flourish; Rublev eliminated

Elsewhere, Italian Matteo Berrettini continues to impress on the grass court. Berrettini has recently won the Queen's Club Championships. A fluent performance saw the seventh seed triumph 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 over Ilya Ivashka of Belarus. Berrettini broke early in each of the sets and though Ivashka produced a mini recovery, the result was never in doubt. He will now take on Alexander Zverev or Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Fifth seed Andrey Rublev became another of the big names to be eliminated in the last 16. An epic five-setter finished with unheralded Marton Fucsovics of Hungary winning the final two sets to progress to the quarterfinals. In the end, the Hungarian deservedly went through 6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. Fucsovics will face a daunting task in his next encounter against Novak Djokovic.

Canada's Denis Shapovalov and Russian Karen Khachanov will also have their names amongst the quarterfinals list. Shapovalov saw off the challenge of eighth seed Roberto Batista Agut 6-1, 6-3, 7-5. On the other hand, Khachanov won an intense battle against American Sebastian Korda. An energy-sapping encounter ended in favour of the Russian 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, 5-7, 10-8. Shapovalov and Khachanov will now go head-to-head for a place in the semi-finals.
