Iga Swiatek has never gotten past the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

American actor Steve Carell recently visited the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London ahead of Wimbledon 2024 and clicked a picture with Iga Swiatek.

World No. #1 Iga Swiatek is currently on a 19-match unbeaten streak on the tour. She also won the Madrid Open, the Italian Open and the 2024 French Open. At the age of 22, Swiatek is a five-time Grand Slam champion and has already spent more than 100 weeks as the World No. #1.

However, the Polish tennis star hasn’t completed a surface slam and Wimbledon 2024 offers the best opportunity for her to reach the milestone. Iga Swiatek has started her preparations for the grass court Grand Slam at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

During her practice, she met American actor Steve Carell, who is famous for his work in ‘The Office’ and ‘Despicable Me 4.’ The two clicked a picture together and it was later uploaded on social media by the official X account of Wimbledon.

They captioned the post, “A very special visit… Ahead of the cinema-only release of Despicable Me 4, Steve Carell stopped by to see the sights.”

Iga Swiatek also reacted to the post by using a GIF of Steve Carell from his show, ‘The Office.’ Top seed Iga Swiatek will commence her campaign at Wimbledon 2024 Championships against American tennis star Sofia Kenin.

The five-time Grand Slam champion last played at the 2024 French Open, where she defeated Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in the final to win her third consecutive Roland-Garros title. However, Swiatek has failed to win a Wimbledon title in her earlier attempts.

She was eliminated in the semi-finals at the grass court major last year by Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina. Thus, she’d be looking forward to winning her first grass court Grand Slam and asserting dominance on all surfaces. Swiatek also confirmed that she will represent Poland at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will take place at the Stade Roland Garros.

She will also play in the mixed doubles event alongside World No. #7 Hubert Hurkacz at the Olympics. Hurkacz said about playing mixed doubles with Iga Swiatek, “I’m super happy that we’ll be able to play some mixed doubles in the Olympics, that’s really special.”
