Jack Draper is currently 28th in the ATP rankings, which is also his career best.
British tennis star Jack Draper has lauded two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray by giving him credit for his success.
Draper won the 2024 Stuttgart Open by defeating former Wimbledon runner-up Matteo Berrettini in the championship match last month. Draper also recorded wins over Frances Tiafoe and Brandon Nakashima on his way to the final.
Additionally, he defeated three-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz in the second round of the 2024 Queen’s Club Championships. As a result of his decent form, Draper has been seeded 28th in the Wimbledon 2024 Championships.
He played his opening round fixture against Sweden’s Elias Ymer and recorded a win in five sets. In the next round, he will face compatriot Cameron Norrie. In the absence of three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray, Draper has become the home hope for all the native supporters at the grass-court Grand Slam.
Interestingly, after defeating Ymer in the first match, Draper also talked about two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray in his post-match interview.

Murray announced on Monday that he won’t be playing in the men’s singles event at Wimbledon. However, he will partner with his brother Jamie Murray to play men’s doubles, while he’s teaming up with Emma Raducanu to play mixed doubles.
Jack Draper gave Murray credit for his success. He also stated that the 37-year-old is a full and genuine person. He said, “I wouldn’t be here without Andy. He’s an incredible guy off the court, so funny, so genuine, and one of a kind. What a competitor, what a champion. Thank you very much.”
Draper is also a part of the United Kingdom’s team for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. Aart from the 22-year-old, Murray, Daniel Evans, and Cameron Norrie have also been named in the team. Meanwhile, Katie Boulter is the only female tennis star, who will represent Great Britain at the 2024 Olympics. Last month, Emma Raducanu announced that she won’t be taking part in the Olympics.
