Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have reportedly been dating since the 2023 French Open
Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas recently uploaded a video clip of him hugging his girlfriend Paula Badosa after her third-round win at Wimbledon 2024.
Paula Badosa defeated Russia’s Daria Kasatkina in the third round of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships on Friday. Kasatkina gave tough competition to the former World No. #2. However, Badosa eventually completed the triumph by winning the match in three sets, with the scoreline reading 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 6-4.
During the post-match interview, she burst into tears and revealed that reaching the second week of a Grand Slam is special for her. Badosa also talked about her struggles and the injuries she has gone through in recent months.
The Spanish tennis star said, “I mean, against Dasha it’s always a battle. She’s just such a great player; she’s been in the top for so many years. And for me it’s very special.”
She added, “I mean I know it’s not my first time in a second week of a Slam, but I think this is the most special one because a few months ago I didn’t know if I could be able to play tennis anymore. So being here today is special,” she said in the on-court interview, wiping off her tears.”
After the win, ESPN uploaded a video of Badosa and Tsitsipas hugging each other near the stairs. Later, Stefanos Tsitsipas shared the video on his social media accounts. He captioned the post, “Proud of you.”
Paula Badosa will face Donna Vekic in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2024. Vekic has defeated Dayana Yastremska and Erika Andreeva in the initial rounds.
However, Tsitsipas’ campaign at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships ended in the second round after he lost against Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori in four sets. The Finnish tennis star will face Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the third round.
In addition to that, Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas also suffered a first-round loss against Argentina’s Andres Molteni and Maximo Gonzalez in the first round of the men’s doubles event.
