Andy Murray is yet to confirm his participation in the men’s singles event at the 2024 Wimbledon.
Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray will partner with his brother Jamie Murray at Wimbledon 2024.
Earlier this month, Murray announced that he would be retiring at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships or the Paris Olympics. However, trouble arose when the 37-year-old suffered a back injury during his second-round fixture against Jordan Thompson at the Queen’s Club Championships.
Murray was forced to retire from the match and his chances of playing at his last Wimbledon also started diminishing. He underwent a surgery on his back for a spinal lump. Consequently, The ATP later announced on their social media handles that Murray won’t be able to participate at the Grand Slam.
However, the post was later deleted due to a request from Murray’s team. On Thursday, the two-time Olympic gold medalist stated that he’s keen to play at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. Murray revealed that he’s making good progress; however, he’s still uncertain about whether to play at the Grand Slam.

He said (via ATP), “I feel that I deserve the opportunity to give it until the very last moment to make that decision. It’s complicated and it’s made more complicated because I want to play at Wimbledon one more time.”
Nevertheless, while his status of playing singles tennis is still uncertain, the 37-year-old is confirmed to play alongside his brother, Jamie Murray. The three-time Grand Slam champion has accepted a wildcard and the duo will play together for the first time at the Wimbledon Championships.
Andy Murray has played in the men’s doubles event twice at Wimbledon before. In 2005, he teamed up with David Sherwood, while he played alongside Pierre-Hugues Herbert in 2019. On both occasions, Murray failed to go past the second round.
Apart from the Wimbledon 2024, Murray will also represent Great Britain at the Paris Olympics. He has been named in the British tennis contingent alongside Cameron Norrie, Daniel Evans and Jack Draper.
