Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Madison Keys lead the star-studded lineup.

With the 2025 tennis season concluded, the attention now shifts to Melbourne, where the Australian Open 2026 is preparing to host one of the strongest women’s fields in recent memory.

The entry list features an exceptional lineup, with 102 of the top 103 WTA players confirming their participation. The first Grand Slam of the season will have every players currently ranked inside the Top 10.

Leading the star-studded field are the World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff, all pursuing their own dreams of a victorious start to the season.

The main draw entry also welcomes three players returning from extended injury layoffs. Karolina Pliskova, Wang Yafan, and Mananchaya Sawangkaew have all secured entry through special rankings after being absent from the circuit for more than six months.

The two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka, is returning to Melbourne aiming to reclaim the title after falling short in the 2025 final against Madison Keys.

For six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek, this Australian Open carries a potential for one of the biggest milestones in her career, offering an opportunity to complete the career Grand Slam. This achievement is unmatched by any player in the current WTA field.

Former Australian Open champions will also be present in the main draw: Sabalenka (2023, 2024), the defending champion Madison Keys (2025), Naomi Osaka (2019, 2021), and Sofia Kenin (2020).

Only two players ranked inside the current Top 103, Danielle Collins who is world no.64 and Ons Jabeur (world no.76) won’t be participating due to health or personal reasons. The Tunisian star Jabeur is probably on maternal leave.

Among the emerging talents, the youngest direct entrant is 18-year-old Iva Jovic, part of a group of teenagers who have secured direct placements.

Seventeen-year-old Emerson Jones, awarded a wild card, stands as the youngest confirmed player in the main draw. At the opposite end of the age spectrum, 38-year-old Tatjana Maria enters as the oldest direct qualifier.
