Angad Bisht wants to earn a UFC contract
In the ever-changing world of mixed martial arts (MMA), few names have caught fans’ imaginations and affection like Angad Bisht. Born on June 5, 1995, in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, Bisht’s journey from a traditional professional route to the hard and exciting world of MMA is one of rebellion, passion, and pure resolve.
Early Life and Unconventional Choices
More than three years ago, a young man in his twenties from Uttarakhand was convinced to sit the Public Service Commission test, a common story in many Indian homes. However, Angad Bisht selected a road that was far from the safety and stability of a government post. Instead, he was lured to the gore, thrill, and adrenaline rush of fighting in an octagon.
Bisht recognized that his true pleasure lay elsewhere after initially pursuing a profession as a doctor, which his parents urged on. He stated that, while he had the intellectual capacity for medicine, his heart was set on MMA. By switching from a traditional vocation to one of the most unconventional options for an Indian, Bisht established himself as a maverick.
Professional Career and Achievements
Angad Bisht is now the top-ranked boxer in the Flyweight class, according to Tapology’s most recent South Asian Pro Ranking. His professional record is an outstanding 10-2-0 (WIN-LOSS-DRAW), with victories that demonstrate his diverse skill set: three by KO/TKO, four by submission, and three by decision. His only two losses were by knockout and decision, demonstrating his perseverance and resolve to come back stronger.
Bisht, who is now competing in Road to UFC Season 3, recently defeated John Dave Almanza by TKO (strikes) at 3:39 of Round 1. This victory, in which he destroyed his opponent, solidified his status as one of the most formidable fighters in his division.
