Khabib and McGregor have always been at each other’s throats
Conor McGregor went after Khabib Nurmagomedov when reports surfaced that ‘The Eagle’ is having problems with the Russian authorities. McGregor renewed his spat with Nurmagomedov by calling the Dagestani a rat.
Russian special forces recently raided a martial arts school established by Khabib Nurmagomedov’s late father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. The raid was allegedly linked to a terrorist assault in Makhachkala.
What happened with Khabib Nurmagomedov?
On Friday, June 28, Russian security officers invaded a mixed martial arts (MMA) facility owned by UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov. Armed police enforcement officers surrounded the gym, named after Nurmsgomedov’s late father and famed coach Abdulmanap, according to footage released by Russian media agencies.
The raid came only days after Sports Politika claimed that one of the terrorists who carried out a recent terror assault on Christian and Jewish sites of worship in Dagestan had previously trained at Nurmagomedov’s gym. The attackers murdered at least 21 people, including 16 police officers and a priest.
Aside from that, Khabib Nurmagomedov appears to be in a dire scenario due to legal issues. With $3.3 million in debt to the Russian authorities, ‘The Eagle’ has already had several of his businesses shuttered. Nurmagomedov, however, has found himself in a terrible financial condition, according to the Russian media outlet ‘Mash’.
The Russian media outlet recently stated that the Russian government has placed the last nail in the coffin for Khabib Nurmagomedov by taking all of his bank accounts, not only those affiliated with his enterprises but also his personal accounts.
The Federal Tax Service, Russia’s counterpart of the IRS, began investigating Khabib Nurmagomoedov’s companies before he quit MMA in 2023 to pursue other opportunities. After the FNS reviewed his enterprises, they discovered certain inconsistencies, which prompted a thorough audit of all financial accounts.
Conor McGregor takes a shot at Khabib Nurmagomedov
Khabib Nurmagomedov, a UFC Hall of Famer and 29-0 record holder has been involved in a number of legal issues with the Russian government. Meanwhile, when Conor McGregor learned of the scenario, he angrily attacked ‘The Eagle’. A recent Twitter from an X account with the moniker ‘Karim Zidan’ indicated that Nurmagomedov was in legal difficulty over a lot of issues, prompting ‘The Notorious’ to retweet it with a remark, which he then deleted. “Scurry, rat, scurry,” wrote Conor McGregor
Later, “The Notorious” once again took a shot at “The Eagle”. On X, McGregor wrote, “broke and on the run if you see him tell him push ups for cash” taking a shot at “The Eagle”.
Khabib hasn’t responded yet but if there are any updates for a potential return of Khabib, we will let you know. Comment and share your opinions.
