Dana White totally shuts down Conor McGregor’s claim!
Dana White has officially shut down Conor McGregor’s recent claims about signing a deal for his long-awaited UFC comeback. The former dual-weight champion created waves online earlier this week after suggesting he’d “signed” to fight at the historic White House card in June 2026.
Speaking after UFC 320 in Perth, the UFC President addressed McGregor’s comments head-on, clarifying that no contracts have been signed and negotiations have yet to begin. White’s tone made it clear that, as of now, there’s no finalized deal for McGregor’s return to the Octagon.
Dana White responds to Conor McGregor’s “signed deal” claim
Dana White confirmed that discussions surrounding the highly anticipated White House event are still in their early stages. According to him, UFC has not entered fight negotiations with anyone, including McGregor, and is currently focused on the logistics of staging such a unique card.
“We are still talking about the production and how everything is going to work at the White House, We have not started negotiating any fights for the White House yet; that won’t start until February.” White said during the post-fight press conference.
White didn’t deny McGregor’s enthusiasm for competing at the landmark event, however. “Conor wants to fight on that card, and you can clearly see Conor is very fired up to fight on that card. But nothing is done yet, and no fights are being negotiated with the White House.”
The UFC boss’s statement directly contradicts McGregor’s earlier claim that his comeback deal was finalized. It’s not the first time the Irish star has teased his return before official confirmation from the promotion.

Conor McGregor’s reaction to UFC 320 fuels comeback buzz

While the UFC was in Perth, McGregor was across the globe attending BKFC 82 in Newark, New Jersey, where he watched Mike Perry defeat Jeremy Stephens. The 37-year-old even agreed to fight Perry after the event, a typical McGregor headline move that set social media ablaze.
Later that night, McGregor tuned in to UFC 320, watching Alex Pereira knock out Magomed Ankalaev in the main event. Moments after the fight, McGregor jumped on X (formerly Twitter) to post, “I am motivated beyond belief, now discipline.”
That message, coupled with his earlier “contract signing” claim, kept fans guessing about what’s next for the Irish icon. Whether it’s bravado or part of an eventual announcement, there’s no denying McGregor’s determination to make his comeback one of the biggest events in UFC history.
For now, fans will have to wait until early 2026 to find out if Dana White’s plans for the White House card and McGregor’s dreams finally align.
