The UFC 304 Edwards vs Muhammad 2 is officially over and is one of the action-packed events featuring big contenders. UFC 304 was held on July 27, 2024, from Co-op Live in Manchester, England, United Kingdom. The event featured several major bouts and showcased a major upset in the main event. - Oban Elliott defeated Preston Parsons by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 20-27).
- Modestas Bukauskas defeated Marcin Prachnio by submission (arm triangle choke) in 3 minutes 12 minutes of the third round.
- Sam Patterson defeated Kiefer Crosbie by submission (arm-triangle choke) in 2 minutes 50 seconds of the first round.
- Mick Parkin defeated Lukasz Brzeski by KO (punches) in 3 minutes 23 seconds of the first round.
- Shauna Bannon defeated Alice Ardelean by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 30-27).
UFC 304 Preliminary Card Matches
- Nathaniel Wood defeated Daniel Pineda by unanimous decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-28).
- Bruna Brasil defeated Molly McCann by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
- Jake Hadley defeated Caolan Loughran by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).
- Muhammad Mokaev defeated Manel Kape by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).
UFC 304 Main Card Matches
- Arnold Allen defeated Giga Chikadze by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
- Gregory Rodrigues defeated Christian Leroy Duncan by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
- Paddy Pimblett defeated King Green by technical submission (triangle choke) in 3 minutes 22 seconds in the first round.
- Tom Aspinall defeated Curtin Blaydes by TKO (punches) in 1 minute of the first round to retain his UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship.
- Belal Muhammad defeated Leon Edwards by unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47, 49-46) to become the new UFC Welterweight Champion.
Arnold Allen vs Giga Chikadze
Round 1: Chikadze started the match with hard kicks and had the initial control. However, things shifted towards Allen when he threw forward punches. Allen missed a combination and Chikadze caught him in the air and delivered a big wheel kick. Allen went for a body kick and left-hand strike. Chikadze landed a right hand and missed a flying knee, but Allen lost his balance. He somehow managed to get on his feet and landed a front kick to the face to end the first round.
Round 2: Chikadze started round two attempting a wheel kick, but missed. Allen landed leg kicks and punches to the body, but Chikadze delivered a sharp punch. The second round was full of back and front punches and kicks until the bell.
Round 3: Allen started the third round with a jab and Chikadze went for a head kick. Allen switched to the left hand and Chikadze’s nose broke and was full of blood when Allen continued throwing punches on it. Chikadze fought back with the body kicks, however his offense was slow. Chikadze threatened him with a spinning attack, but Allen with the guard chased him around the cage to deliver a switch knee before the round ended.
The three referees scored the match (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) and Allen won the match by unanimous decision.
Gregory Rodrigues vs Christian Leroy Duncan
Round 1: Duncan started with a sharp jab and put the pressure on Rodrigues right from the beginning. Rodrigues delivered a hard combination and both started circling the cage. CLD tried hitting a short elbow but Rodrigues responded with a leg kick and took him with a single-leg takedown. Rodrigues took the top position and maintained it till the round ended.
Round 2: The round began with CLD firing off with leg kicks and Rodrigues countering with a fast combo. Both tried for a takedown, and CLD tried for a kimura. Rodriguez delivered a series of punches and CLD got hurt with the big right hand. Rodriguez controlled him on the ground until the round ended.
Round 3: Rodriguez kept putting pressure on CLD and CLD slammed him to the ground. Both battled near the cage and the referee separated them. Rodriguez caught CLD’s leg and he responded by attempting jump kicks. Rodriguez stood back from him and tried for a choke. In the end of round three, the referees scored the match (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) and Rodrigues won the match by unanimous decision.
Paddy Pimblett vs King Green
Round 1: Pimblett was fired up right from the beginning. He landed punches and kicks on Green. Greed with the sidekicks and punches to the body fought back taking Pimblett to the corner. Pimblett wraps him with a triangle, and Green tries to escape. Pimblett rolls him over for an armbar. The referee waves the match and Pimblett defeats King Green by submission (Triangle choke) in 3:22 minutes of Round 1.
UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship- Tom Aspinall vs Curtin Blaydes
Round 1: The first round showcased both landing punches and Aspinall eating punches from Blayde. The round ended with Aspinal trying to step forward and landing a series of punches to the stomach until the referee stopped it. Tom Aspinall defeated Curtin Blaydes by TKO (punches) in 1 minute of the first round to retain his UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship.
UFC Welterweight Championship- Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhammad
In the main event of the show, Leon Edwards defended his UFC Welterweight Championship against Belal Muhammad.
Round 1: No gloves were touched and Muhammad took Edwards to the mat very quickly, silencing the crowd. Edwards reversed with clinch position looked for a takedown and landed an elbow and both were back on their feet. Edwards gave an uppercut, however, Belal continued to put pressure on the champ. In the final seconds, Belal landed him with a few punches.
Round 2: Edward came out with the hard kick and they heated up exchanging punches. Belal caught him with a knee and slammed him on the head. Edward tried for a takedown, but Belal took him down. When both battled on the mat round 2 ended.
Round 3: Edwards was fired up in the third round with a head kick and gave the pressure to the challenger. Belal went defensive, and Edwards went for a choke and punched until the last minute.
Round 4: Belal fought back in the fourth round and Edwards scored him equally. Both tried to take each other down, but Edward was down and Belal landed him with a series of punches. Edward scrambled and Muhammad took full control of him.
Round 5: Both were fired up to have the round in their favor. Belal took control of the mid-match and Edwards tried to look for momentum, however, he got in the final moment.
At the end of round five, the referees scored the match 48-47, 48-47, 48-47, 49-46) and Muhammad Belal won the match by Unanimous decision.
