Two titles will be contested this week in Newark!

The MMA leader will arrive in Newark, New Jersey, for the third consecutive year to deliver UFC 316, which will be headlined by Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley. The star-studded pay-per-view fight card will emanate from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

While the two formidable foes battle in a rematch for the Bantamweight title in the main event, Women’s Bantamweight Champion Julianna Pena will defend her throne against a rising contender in Kayla Harrison. The MMA leader has built a stacked card featuring multiple legends as well as rising stars. Former Bellator Bantamweight Champion, Patchy Mix, is also set to battle Mario Bautista in his UFC debut.

Merab Dvalishvili (c) vs Sean O’Malley – UFC Bantamweight Championship

The reigning Bantamweight Champion, Merab Dvalishvili, will defend the title for the second time in the main event of UFC 316, against a familiar opponent, Sean O’Malley. In their first meeting, Dvalishvili emerged victorious, capturing the title in the process.

With a sharp focus on training and removing all the distractions, O’Malley is looking to exact revenge while Merab wants to keep the status quo, furthering his current 12-fight winning streak.

Julianna Pena (c) vs Kayla Harrison – Women’s Bantamweight Championship

Rising contender Kaylra Harrison will challenge the reigning queen of Bantamweights, Julianna Pena, in the co-main event before Dvalishvili and O’Malley’s clash. Pena and Harrison have no love lost between them are ready to humiliate each other inside the octagon come Saturday.

Pena claimed the title for a second time with a win over Raquel Pennington last October and is now ready to shut down the Challenger, who is a massive favorite against the Champion. Kayla also competed on the last October card in Salt Lake, defeating Ketlen Vieira to bag the No. 1 contender spot.
