UFC makes its historic Serbia debut with a stacked 14-fight card.
The UFC touches down in Belgrade for the first time in company history this Saturday. UFC Belgrade will be headlined by a welterweight showdown between hometown favourite Uros Medic and American veteran Daniel Rodriguez. The event takes place at the Belgrade Arena on August 1, marking Serbia’s first-ever UFC card.
Medic enters the bout riding a three-fight winning streak, with every one of those wins coming by way of first-round knockout, including a highlight-reel finish over Geoff Neal earlier this year in Houston.
Fighting in front of his home fans for the first time in his UFC career, the 13-3 Serbian will look to add a statement finish to his growing knockout resume.
Rodriguez, on the other hand, returns to the Octagon after nearly a year on the sidelines. The 39-year-old enters on his own three-fight winning streak, having most recently defeated Kevin Holland at UFC 318 last July, and will look to spoil Medic’s homecoming party.
In the co-main event, former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz returns to face unbeaten prospect Navajo Stirling, who stepped in on short notice after Blachowicz’s original opponent, Bogdan Guskov, was moved to a different card.
