This week’s fight card has some big fights
The first UFC Fight Night event of the year to be held outside of the United States will take place on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Former UFC champion Israel Adesanya will face Nassourdine Imavov in a middleweight match.
Adesanya, sometimes known as “The Last Stylebender,” enters the octagon with a 24–4 record. He is keen to turn his fortunes around in this bout after suffering two straight defeats: a unanimous decision loss to Sean Strickland in 2023 and, most recently, a fourth-round submission loss to Dricus Du Plessis.
Imavov enters his fight against Adesanya with a record of 15 victories and four defeats. He is currently on a three-fight winning run, all of which came in 2024, with his most recent victory being a unanimous decision against Brendan Allen. Imavov, like Adesanya, lost against Sean Strickland in 2023 by unanimous decision.

Israel Adesanya vs Nassourdine Imavov (Middleweight)
After losing his middleweight championship to Sean Strickland at UFC 293, Israel Adesanya hopes to restore his position at the top of the category. Adesanya, known for his striking precision, innovation, and championship experience, is out to prove that he is still one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Nassourdine Imavov, a Dagestani-born French fighter, has been dominating the middleweight class. With a well-rounded skill set and strong wins against top contenders, Imavov sees this fight as an opportunity to advance to the division’s elite tier and make a statement against a past champion.
Shara Magomedov vs Michael Page (Middleweight)
Shara Magomedov has been smashing up the UFC middleweight class like a wrecking ball. Since his debut in 2023, “Bullet” has amassed a perfect 4-0 record, defeating Bruno Silva, Antonio Trocoli, Michal Oleksiejczuk, and Armen Petrosyan. Magomedov is a human highlight reel, having knocked out 12 opponents in 15 professional fights.
Michael “Venom” Page is more than a fighter; he’s an entertainment, a conundrum that opponents can’t solve. Page, known for his flamboyant and unconventional striking, is making the highly anticipated transition to middleweight after fighting at 170 pounds.
Sergei Pavlovich vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik (Heavyweight)
One of the matchups that has fight fans excited for UFC Fight Night 250 in Saudi Arabia is Sergei Pavlovich vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruk. This battle will determine whether Rozenstruik rises to the top ten of the heavyweight rankings or whether Pavlovich faces a fighter in the top three. Needless to say, this heavyweight match will be critical in determining their speed in the title chase.
Pavlovich will enter the Octagon on February 1 with an 18–3 professional MMA record. He is now on a two-fight losing run, having lost to Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov in his past two fights. Meanwhile, 15 of his 18 victories have been by KO/TKO.
Rozenstruik, on the other side, has a 15–5 record. And, unlike his opponent, the Surinamese is on a two-fight winning streak. Although his fights show that he sends 3.75 major strikes per minute, he is far more precise, with 49% striking accuracy.
Said Nurmagomedov vs Vinicius Oliveira (Bantamweight)
Vinicius Oliveira will meet Nurmagomedov, but not how he imagined. The bantamweight prospect will battle Said Nurmagomedov at UFC Saudi Arabia on February 2.
Oliveira, who had been pressing for a bout with Umar Nurmagomedov, won his second fight in the Octagon with a strong unanimous decision over Ricky Simon during the early prelims of UFC 303. With an 11-1 record in his past twelve fights, he will now be hoping to add another huge victory to his career.
Muhammad Naimov vs Kaan Ofli (Featherweight)
Featherweights Muhammad Naimov and Kaan Ofli will face off in an exciting battle. Both boxers have similar professional records of 11 wins and 3 losses, but their fighting styles and career paths provide interesting differences. Muhammad Naimov, 30, stands 5’9″ (175 cm) tall and has a reach of 70 inches (178 cm).
He has won 6 of his 11 fights by knockout, resulting in a knockout rate of around 55%. His striking ability is supplemented by two submission wins, totalling an 18% submission percentage. Naimov’s UFC career began in 2023, and he has a professional record of three wins and one defeat.
Kaan Ofli, 31, stands 5’6″ (168 cm), providing Naimov with a 3-inch height advantage. Ofli has won two of his eleven fights via knockout, for an 18% knockout percentage, and has six submission victories, for a 55% submission rate.
His professional career began in 2014, providing him with nearly a decade of experience prior to this fight. Ofli made his UFC debut in 2024 and is looking for his first promotional win. Naimov has a statistical advantage in striking power, although Ofli excels in grappling and submission. Naimov’s taekwondo and kickboxing history implies he will want to keep the bout standing, using his reach and punching to control the tempo.
