Gilbert Burns will put his ranking on the line against Mike Malott.
Following the conclusion of UFC 327, the MMA leader will embark on a four-Fight Night event run before UFC 328. The first stop in the run in UFC Winnipeg, which would be headlined by Gilbert Burns and Mike Malott.
The Fight Night will take place on April 18 at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This will be UFC’s first event in eight years in Winnipeg. Nine Canadians, including three newcomers, will be featured on the card.
The main event will see the former Welterweight title challenger, Gilbert Burns, battle the rising star from Canada, Mike Malott. Burns is currently ranked 11th in the division, while Malott is unranked and is looking for a decisive win this Saturday to get into the top 15.
Burns is determined to get back in the win column after four massive setbacks; his last win came in 2023. On the other hand, despite a single hiccup against Neil Magny in 2024, Malott has been stacking up wins to rise up the rankings and maybe challenge for the coveted UFC title one day.
The co-main event of the show will see American Kyle Phillips take on Canadian fan-favorite Charles Jourdain in a bantamweight bout. Other notable names of the card include Jai Herbert, Jasmine Jasudavicius, Thiago Moises, and Jamey-Lyn Horth, among others.
