Three Indian wrestlers crash out of World Championships

A number of top names are not participating in the tournament.
The Indian wrestlers had a bad start on Day 1 of the World Championships in Oslo, Norway. A total of four Indian wrestlers competed in different weight categories on Saturday, but failed to produce positive results.
Among all the Indian wrestlers who competed on the first day, only Ravinder managed to win a match. Participating in the 61kg weight category, the Indian wrestler defeated Kim Sung-Gwon of South Korea. He completely outplayed his opponent and won the match with a big margin of 13-2 to progress into the next round.
Ravinder faced Lomtadze Beka of Georgia in the pre-quarterfinals of the World Championships. He displayed a great skill-set once again to beat his opponent with a score of 6-2.
In the quarterfinal, Ravinder faced Daton Duain of the USA and did not have any answers to the moves of his opponent, as the American wrestler cruised to a 10-0 victory. However, the Indian can still win the bronze medal as he will play in the repechage round.
Disappointing performance from other Indian wrestlers
In the 74kg weight category, Yash could not manage to pass the qualification round, as Russia's Bizhoev Timur crushed him 7-0 in a one-sided encounter. The Indian wrestler did not have any control over his opponent in the match, which resulted in a huge defeat for him.
Sandeep Singh Mann, who was competing in the 86kg weight category, faced defeat against Kim Gwan-uk of South Korea. Mann gave a tough fight to his opponent and displayed a great mix of attacking and defensive play. But. in the end, he lost the match with a score of 4-5 and couldn’t manage to get past the qualification round.
Anirudh Kumar was the third Indian wrestler to crash out of the World Championships. Competing in the 125kg weight category, he was up against Youssif Mohamed Hemida of Egypt. Anirudh faced a massive defeat by the score of 3-9 and missed the opportunity to qualify for the next round.
