Get to know the Indian Tag Team 'Indus Sher' dominating WWE
All the wrestlers in the stable are from Indian descent
Indus Sher is a pro-wrestling Tag Team stable in WWE which consists of professional wrestlers from Indian descent. On the 25th March 2020 Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjarmade their NXT debut along with their manager Malcolm Bivens, by attacking the one half of the NXT Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle. Since then, they have established themselves to be one of the destructible forces in professional wrestling.
Indus Sher made their in-ring debut on the April 8th episode of NXT by defeating Ever-Rise. After a couple of months, the team vanished from the television. In 2021, they participated in a live event match by teaming up with Drew McIntyre against Jinder Mahal and The Bollywood Boyz. Earlier this year, Indus Sher made their return along with the former WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal by attacking Julis and Brutus Creed. The Trio is now called for their main roster debut on the Raw brand.

Indus Sher is a tag team stable that comprises three Indian descent professional wrestlers including the former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Rinku Singh as Veer Mahan, Saurav Gurjar as Sangha.
Jinder Mahal
Yuvraj Singh Dhesi, popularly known by his WWE in-ring name Jinder Mahal is a Canadian professional Wrestler with an Indian descent. Jinder Mahal was born in a wrestling family and was trained by Rick Bognar at the MMA Fitness Center in Calgary.
He made his wrestling debut in Premier Martial Arts Wrestling (PMW) under the name Raj Dhesi. He then trained along with co-wrestlers such as Natalya, Tyson Kidd and Viktor. He then changed his name to Tiger Raj Singh and wrestled under the tag team division along with his cousin Gama Singh Jr. at Stampede and Prairie Wrestling Alliance (PWA). The team was known as The New Karachi Vice and as Sikh and Destroy. The duo won the PWA Canadian Tag Team Championship. Jinder then appeared as an individual wrestler and won the PWA Heavyweight Championship twice.
Mahal then participated in the WWE tryout at Florida Championship Wrestling in 2010, where he found that the Punjabi gimmick could make him stand out from others. So he came out with a turban and punjabi outfit and even changed his name to Jinder mahal. After wrestling for a year in FCW, Jinder Mahal was called for his main roster debut in 2011.
He made his debut on SmackDown and was unimpressed with Khali and Ranjin Singh being involved in childish activities. He interrupted Khali’s Kiss Cam and slapped Khali, thereby developing a storyline of being the brother-in-law of Khali as he married Khali’s sister.. Eventually, he made his debut match in WWE against Vladamir Kozlov and won. He then was on a continuous losing path as a team or as an individual wrestler.
Jinder Mahal then returned to FCW which was rebranded as NXT and had a long winning streak. He competed in the NXT Championship tournament to crown the first ever NXT Champion. Where he made his spot to finals but got defeated by Seth Rollins and thereby ending the winning streak. Jinder returned to the main roster and lined himself with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre under the team name 3MB. Mahal soon got released from WWE in 2014.
Jinder Mahal then made his return in 2016 with a more masculine and shredded body. Jinder Mahal was then accompanied by The Singh Brothers, who assisted him to win against his opponents. WWE then pushed Jinder to the top of the card and gave him a championship opportunity against the WWE Champion Randy Orton at Backlash PPV. He then pinned Randy Ortan and became the WWE Champion for the first time. Mahal held the title for 170 days with multiple title defenses and lost the title to AJ Styles.
Mahal was soon inserted into a United States Championship tournament, to crown the US Champion at WrestleMania 34. Jinder Mahal made his way to the final and won the United States Championship at WrestleMania 34. He lost the title in 8 days as a result of the superstar shake up. Jinder Mahal has now been added to the Indus Sher, which could make the alliance more dominant and powerful.
Veer Mahan
Rinku Singh is an Indian Professional Wrestler, best known by his in-ring name Veer Mahan. He is one of the mighty wrestlers in WWE. He is from Uttar Pradesh, India and grew up in a poor family. He was one of the nine siblings, who were brought up in a single room house. Singh used to play javelin and cricket during his younger age.
In 2008, he participated in an Indian reality television show named The Million Dollar Arm, a baseball contest. Haven’t heard about the Baseball, he somehow managed to win the contest and grabbed a grand prize of $100,000.
He then traveled to Los Angeles and trained with the University of Southern California. He then featured in Pittsburg Pirates and became the first Indian citizen to appear in professional baseball in the U.S.
Singh then signed a developmental contract with WWE and said to perform under the NXT brand. Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar debuted under the name Indus Sher. After a couple of months in NXT, Indus Sher vanished from television. Meanwhile, Veer Mahan made his main roster debut along with Shanky. Veer Mahan had started a feud against The Mysterios and had dominant victories against them.
Sanga
Saurav Gurjar is an Indian Professional Wrestler and Actor, currently signed with WWE as Sanga and is said to perform under the Red brand. He was born in Dabra, Madhya Pradesh and is a former National Kickboxing Gold Medalist. He has featured in films and television shows, most notably Brahmastra Part One: Shiva as Zor, Mahabharat as Bhim.
Before signing with WWE, he made his wrestling debut in TNA’s Indian project Ring Ka King under the ring name Deadly Danda. He made his WWE debut in 2018 on the NXT brand along with Rinku Singh under the team name Indus Sher. He stopped appearing on television and returned in September 2022 under the ring name Sanga. He is now the part of Indus Sher and just made his main roster debut this week on Raw.
