When will the WWE Draft 2023 come into effect?

The Draft is officially over
The 2023 WWE Draft is officially over, which occurred as a two night event on the April 28th episode of SmackDown and the May 1st episode of Raw. Several picks were made by both the brands, and the whole Draft was filled with multiple surprises.
A total of 10 rounds (4 rounds on SmackDown, and 6 rounds on Raw) of Draft picks was announced from some of the WWE legends, each round had 4 picks (2 from the Raw brand and 2 from the SmackDown brand). A total of 40 superstars were drafted on air and certain superstars were drafted on a Supplementary Draft. A bunch of NXT superstars were also called for their main roster debut.
Which creates new opportunities and feud among existing and new wrestlers. However, the 2023 Draft does not come into effect immediately. So, When does the draft come into effect? Why cannot it occur immediately? Here is the answer for your question.

When will the WWE Draft 2023 come into effect?
Before the start of the 2023 Draft, Triple H kicked off and addressed the WWE Universe/ He also laid down the rules for the draft. In his announcement, he stated that the post-draft picks for the respective brands will come into effect on the May 8th episode of Raw, following the 2023 Backlash premium live event.
This decision was possibly made by the WWE narrative to end certain feuds and storylines at Backlash 2023. The WWE Universe can now witness the end to certain rivalries on Backlash and can expect some new debuts and storylines on the following episodes of Raw and SmackDown.
