The July 17, 2023 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw is scheduled to be aired live from State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia. The third week of Raw on the road to the greatest event of the summer, SummerSlam 2023 is expected to be filled with a number of interesting segments, match bookings and feuds leading to a match at the event. Here is a detailed preview of this upcoming episode of Raw.
Preview on the Match card and Predictions
Brock Lesnar Returns
Brock Lesnar returned 2 weeks before on Raw re-initiating the feud with Cody Rhodes after a month of absence. The return created a brawl, where Rhodes hit Lesnar with a Cody Cutter. Last week on Raw, Cody Rhodes issued the challenge to Lesnar for a "rubber match" at SummerSlam to determine the potential winner of the feud. Cody also asked Lesnar to accept the challenge the coming week. Lesnar is said to return this week to address Cody's challenge and probably end up in a face to face staredown.
The Alpha Academy vs The Viking Raider
Maxxine Dupree graduated from the Alpha Academy last week and is about to be inducted into graduation, but The Viking Raiders interrupted and spoiled the ceremony. This week, Ivar and Eric from the Viking Raiders would face Chad Gable and Otis in a tag team match once again with Valhalla and Maxxine Dupree on their corners. The match could possibly end in the favor of the Alpha Academy after an outside ring distraction by Dupree and Valhalla. The feud could possibly extend until SummerSlam 2023.
Tomasso Ciampa vs Bronson Reed
Tomasso Ciampa returned to Raw weeks ago and had a welcoming feud with The Miz, which turned into violence as both attacked each other in the past three weeks. They finally had a no disqualification match last week exchanging brutal punishments among them. During the match, when Ciampa tried to pin The Miz, Bronson Reed attacked Ciampa paving way for The Miz' victory. This week Bronson Reed could have a one on one match with Ciampa which would end in a disqualification.
DIY reunion
The disqualification could be caused by The Miz. The Miz and Reed might attack Ciampa with a two on one advantage. If everything goes by the plan, Johnny Gargano would run for the aid of Ciampa teasing the reunion of DIY leading to a possible tag team match at SummerSlam between The Miz and Bronson Reed vs Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano.
