WWE Raw Results & Winners (August 28, 2023): Becky destroyed Zoey, Raquel made Rhea retreat
Becky Lynch destroyed Zoey, Raquel made Rhea Retreat, Street fight stipulation added to the tag team match at Payback and more
The August 28, 2023 episode of Raw showcased some of the best matches and segments. All the matches from the Raw side has been confirmed for the Payback, a great Falls Count Anywhere Match was held, new stipulations added to a confirmed match and much more happened this week. To know in detail, here is the full match summary, results, an ratings for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Match Summary
Sami Zayn vs Damien Priest
Monday Night Raw with an one-on-one match between Sami Zayn and Damien Priest. Arms locked and Priest took the initial control straight away with a shoulder tackle and a couple of kicks to the mid section. He then locks his hands around Zayn’s neck, but got countered with an arm throw and couple of elbow to the skill. Priest slides out of the ring, where Sami kicks him right on the face with a sliding super kick. They moved into the ring, where Priest hit him with a clothesline sending Sami upside down and hit him with a Vertical Sit out Suplex and went for a pinfall. Zayn counters the fall and sends Priest out and went for a suicide dive, but Priest caught him and hit face first on the announcement table.
After the Commercial, Zayn hit a Sit out Powerbomb on Priest, sends him out. Zayn hit a Senton over the top rope and pushed Priest in to hit him with a Blue Thunder bomb but wasn’t enough to finish Priest. Priest hit him with a kick to the face, and went for a splash on the corner, but Zayn countered his move with an Exploder Suplex. When Zayn measured Priest for a Helluva Kick, McDonagh showed up out of nowhere and grabs Zayn’s leg, helping Priest to hit Zayn with a Sit out Chokeslam for the win.
After the match, McDonagh came to celebrate with Priest by lifting the hands of Priest, but Priest pushed him off, and said that he doesn’t wanted his help and walked out. Kevin Owens showed up from nowhere and hit McDonagh with a Stunner and Zayn hit McDonagh with a Helluva Kick. Where Priest watches and walked out minding his own business.

The Miz mocked LA Knight
LA Knight music hits and the crowd went with a loud pop, but The Miz came out with LA Knight’s dress and imitated him. He doesn’t like his popularity and made that anyone with a catch phrase can be LA Knight. He made statement that after their match at Payback, everybody will say “M I Z” Yeah! and ended the segment.
The New Day vs The Viking Raiders
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day took Eric and Ivar of The Viking Raiders, with Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle on the ring side. Ivar and woods started the match, where Ivar controlled the match with a back to back tag-ins and slowed the momentum of Woods. Kofi got tagged in and took Eric and Ivar down with a Superkick and a Springboard from the top rope.
During the commercial, Viking Raiders took the control of the match. Ivar hit a Crossbody, back to back elbow strikes. Kofi tried to tag Woods in, but they dominated Kofi with back to back tag-ins. Woods finally got the tag and sent Eric with a Neck Breaker and tried to hit Ivar with a Superkick, however Eric caught him with a full Nelson and hit his knee on the back of the head.
Kofi got tagged in, where both Kofi and Ivar fell over the top rope to the floor. Ivar then ran Kofi through McIntyre and Riddle. McIntyre got pissed off and threw chairs on Ivar and Eric, but accidentally hit Woods. Which caused Kofi distracted and made The Viking Raiders deliver the double powerbomb for the win.

Chad Gable vs Ludwig Kaiser
Gunther and Giovanni Vinci accompanied Ludwig Kaiser to the ring, where Gunther stood on top of the table and praised Gable for defeating him, but felt sorry for him as it pissed the Ring General, and said that he is going to punish Gable net week on the championship rematch. Gable interrupted and countered his talk, that he already beat him and will beat one more time and take the championship of his waist. and the match kicked off.
Kaiser had the initial control of the match by twisting Gable’s hands, but Gable countered with an arm twist of his own. Kaiser escaped and hit a couple of kicks to the mid section of Gable. Gable fought back and locked with an Arm bar over the ropes. Kaiser then hit him with a Clothesline and sends him out.
After the commercial, Gable hit Kaiser with a couple of Belly to Belly Suplex. When tried for three, Kaiser countered and sent Gable Down. Kaiser hit him with a couple of chops to the chest, and sends him face first to the ground. Gable is somehow fired up and hit him with rapid strikes and a leg throw. Gable tried to lift Kaiser for a Suplex, but Kaiser countered with a rolling slam. Gable then took control with a slam and a Moonsault from the top rope and hit him with a Suplex. He went for a pinfall, but Vinci stopped the count causing a disqualification.
After the match, Otis tried to counter Vinci but was out-numbered by Kaiser. Kaiser and Vinci attacked Gable, where Gunther re-appeared to the ringside and attempted to Powerbomb Gable. But Gable countered him with an Ankle Lock, where Vinci and Kaiser stopped him and made Gunther then deliver a Powerbomb.
Winner: Chad Gable Ratings: 3/5
Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins came to the ring to deliver a message to Shinsuke Nakamura and called him out. He didn’t came out, but a video package of him training was played on the screen. Rollins poke that nothing gonna make him break his mind and lose the championship. Where Nakamura came out of nowhere and attacked Rollins from behind. He then whispered on his ears and walked out.
Steel City Street Fight Match
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn where on the backstage, where they expressed their frustration on Judgment Day on how they battle week after week. They look to end it at Payback as they officially added a stipulation to their tag team championship match by making it a Steel City Street Fight Match.
Tommaso Ciampa vs Bronson Reed
Tommaso Ciampa walked his way into the ring, where Reed attacked him from the backside. The match started during the commercial, where Reed hit Ciampa with a Splash and had a brief control. However Ciampa hit him with a backdrop, and then tried to hit Reed with a knee strike. Reed attacked him back with a Running Powerbomb, which he kicked out. Reed took the fight outside the ring, by hitting Ciampa face first to the steel steps. While entering the ring, Ciampa delivered an Elevated DDT and a Running Knee to Reed. He then covered Reed in a clumsy way, but somehow got the win .
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa Ratings: 2/5
Raquel confronted Rhea
Rhea came to the ting to send a message to Raquel for their match at Payback, but Raquel attacked Rhea and made her retreat.
Becky Lynch vs Zoey Stark [Falls Count Anywhere Match]
Becky Lynch came with a Kendo Stick on her hands and started punishing Zoey right from the start. When Zoey scrolled out and tried to retreat, Trish attacked Becky with Kendo Stick from behind. The match eventually became a 2-on-1 match, as both started attacking Lynch. Trish helped Zoey by throwing Chairs inside the ring to destroy Becky. Zoey tried to finish the match too soon by measuring Becky to a Z360. But Becky hit her with a Manhandle Slam and went for the cover, which Trish stopped. Becky chased her hit her with Kendo stick to the back. Zoey then followed her and attacked Lynch with a Steel Chair.
After the Commercial, Becky introduced a table, but Zoey stopped her. Zoey hit her with a kick to the face and a spring board dive over the steel chair of Becky. Becky then hit a Super-plex over the chairs. Becky dragged Zoey and tried to hit a Manhandle Suplex over the Commentary table, but Trish stopped her. Trish dried her with a Bull Dog to the table but Lynch kicked out. All the three went through the audience area and fought over a series of tables, where Zoey accidentally pushed Trish through a table, who broke into the floor. Becky then hit a Manhandle Slam on another table for a win. She then dedicated her victory to Bray Wyatt.
Winner: Ratings: 4.7/5

The Viking Raiders (W) defeated The New Day by Pinfall.
Chad Gable (W) defeated Ludwig Kaiser by Disqualification.
