CM Punk returns to CFFC commentary and hints WWE return

The superstar was recently fired from the AEW which sparked his WWE return rumors.
CM Punk got terminated from AEW after a backstage confrontation with Jack Perry at AEW All In, London. Punk and Jack Perry (The Jungle Boy) had a disagreement on using the real glass in a wrestling match. Jack Perry during his match teased Punk indirectly during the Zero hour of the event and went to argue backstage before Punk's match with Samoa Joe.
It was reported that the argument went physical and became a threat. They were forced to leave the stadium after the match to reduce tension. Tony Khan formed an investigation committee to investigate the brawl and suspended both Punk & Perry. After the committee's report and suggestions from backstage officials, Tony Khan fired CM Punk and released him from his contract due to disciplinary actions.
As CM Punk's career became a question mark, there wasn't any official statement from Punk and he was nowhere to be seen. However, Punk returned to CFFC, for MMA commentary and hinted at his future.
CM Punk at CFFC
Punk signed with CFFC in November 2018 and made his commentary debut at CFFC 71. After his AEW debut, Punk showed up occasionally for the commentary, where his last appearance was in November 2022 at CFFC 114. After nearly ten months, Punk returned to CFFC 125, marking his first television appearance since the AEW release. It was telecasted on UFC Fight Pass.
During the intro, Punk's commentary partner John Morgan commented that he ran into Punk backstage and was back with cause. However during the commentary, Punk hinted that he has time on his hands for the next two months.
Punk’s return at Survivor Series?
With his note, two months from now Survivor Series, wrestling fans started speculating that Punk would return to WWE at Survivor Series. Adding a strong point to his comment, Survivor Series 2023 is scheduled to be hosted in Punk's hometown Chicago suburb Rosemont, Illinois.
Punk had already attempted to return to WWE earlier this year by entering the Royal Rumble. He was caught backstage during an episode of Raw and was asked to leave the arena. Will this be a spoiler for Punk’s return? We need to wait and watch.
