Drew McIntyre has his eyes on Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship after failing to dethrone Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns has been breaking records since his return to the company at 2020 WWE SummerSlam. He stood undefeated for almost three years, holding the Universal Championship for more than a thousand years and now has broken another record recently. Roman Reigns crossed three year championship reign after Payback. However one of the former challengers of Reigns, Drew McIntyre has spoken about changing his target to the new world championship.
Drew McIntyre is a two-time world champion, who carried the company on his shoulder during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was seen as the hero of the company, by not letting down the standards.
After losing the championship and moving to SmackDown, Drew challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the 2022 Clash at the Castle in Wales. Where he failed to capture the title, in front of the homies as he was attacked by debuting Solo Sikoa, which paved the way for Reigns to retain the championship.
Drew McIntyre on his next target
Drew McIntyre in a recent interview with Essentially Sports stated that he wishes to capture the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins and have a long run in the red brand.
Drew says,
“I want to make sure I get on a good run and earn the right to fight for the World title with Seth. And hopefully, get the right to become World Champion once again,”
As Drew’s two World Championships were during the Pandemic, he never experienced a championship victory in front of the massive crowd. Which even got teased in the latest episode of Raw, where Xavier Woods told McIntyre about his championship win, when no one was around.
There is no doubt that Drew will be the World Champion once again in front of the big crowd if he wishes to stay with the company. However, when he will capture the title is the biggest question mark. Do you wish to see Drew McIntyre become the World Champion again? Share your thoughts in the comments.
